I don’t like to give away too many personal details online, so let’s just say it’s been a good 10+ years since my teens, and leave it at that.
Habits I Should Have Left Behind In High School:
1. Buying 90% of my clothes from the Junior’s department at Kohl’s
I realize I’m probably a bit too old to be wearing the same clothes as teenagers, but I just can’t help it—I don’t know who Kohl’s buyers are, but I think they do an excellent job.
2. Frying my hair with a flat iron
No matter how much I’ve tried to evolve into a more adult-like hairstyle, pin-straight hair à la the early 2000s is a trend I just never managed to ditch.
3. Sleeping in WAY TOO LATE on the weekends
Oh. My. Gosh. I do this EVERY SINGLE WEEKEND and I always, always, ALWAYS! regret it.
I always joke with my boyfriend about belonging in a different time zone, because, for some reason, it just comes so naturally to me to stay up later than I’d like to admit and then sleep in ‘till 11 or noon. (Yikes!)
4. Almost never eating vegetables because I fucking hate them
(Don’t tell my health insurance provider.)
I have yet to find a vegetable I want to eat more than once. And frankly, eating too much produce just upsets my stomach—so I’ll continue enjoying egg sandwiches while everyone else drones on about avocado toast.
