I had so much fun at the liquor store yesterday.  Maybe that sounds bad, but whatever, I’m almost 24 and I love buying wine!  This year for Thanksgiving, I was told to bring wine, and I take that responsibility even more seriously than I do my full-time job.

Look at what I got (no, the food chopper isn’t part of it)!

Thanksgiving Wines
Layer Cake, Thorny Rose, Santa Margherita, and J. Lohr

Layer Cake Cabernet Sauvignon

Thorny Rose Cabernet Sauvignon

Santa Margherita Pinot Grigio

J Lohr Cabernet Sauvignon

I actually didn’t intentionally buy so many bottles of cabernet sauvignon; I just got carried away in that particular section at the liquor store, and the labels caught my attention.  The two bottles to the right (Santa Margherita Pinot Grigio and J Lohr Cabernet Sauvignon) were planned purchases; I’ve had Santa Margherita before and I know that I like it, but I also bought this because I know my mother really enjoys it.  I’ve never tried J Lohr before, but this was another wine that my mother mentioned she likes, so I made sure to hunt it down.

I may have had the Layer Cake wine before; pretty much any alcohol bottle with a picture of baked goods is bound to get my attention, and I distinctly remember being on a cake-inspired-wine kick when I was 21.  In fact, that’s part of why I got so many bottles: I don’t remember being particularly fond of by the cake wine I had when I was going through my kick, so just in case this is the same wine that didn’t impress me, I thought it would be good to have some back-ups.

I’m pretty sure I’ve never had the Thorny Rose wine, but that description on the back of the bottle sold me immediately.

Looking forward to trying these out today!  Happy Thanksgiving! Follow my blog with Bloglovin
